In a ranch in Mercedes, Uruguay. It's gorgeous here, so nice and peaceful!
Didn't sleep all that well last night, on and off so definitely feeling it!
Got dropped off at a service station at 7am instead of 10am as we thought it would be so it was 14 hours instead of 17! A good thing for sure!
Hung around for a couple of hours for our minibus. The service station had wifi so it kept us all occupied! Thanks to wifi!
The Argentinian border was closed so we couldn't get our exit stamp but that wasn't too important thankfully! Didn't want the same problem as I had entering Guatemala! It took a while to cross the Uruguay border but got our passports stamped eventually.
Made our way to the ranch. It's literally in the middle of the countryside. It's so lovely and peaceful. Definitely a good place to get away for a few days of r&r.
Not long after we arrived lunch was served! Had barbecued sausage with bread and salad.
Went for a walk after lunch. The weather was beautiful and sunny. Not a cloud in sight! They have 3 dogs which came with us. We went to a lake and the dogs loved swimming in them! Had to make sure they didn't come near us as didn't want to get wet lol! The man who led us walked really fast so it wasn't a slow walk it was a fast walk, had to try and keep up! Good exercise though!
Soon after we came back there was bread and dulce de leche for all of us. Definitely going to get fed very well here! It was so nice! Would love to buy a jar of it but I know it won't last me until I get home; either I'll be tempted to open it and eat it or being my clumsy self, I'll drop it somehow! Probably a good thing that I won't buy it, my waistline will definitely thank me lol! So glad I'm doing so much walking otherwise I'd probably put on so much weight with all the different food here!
Had some wine before and with dinner. Dinner was so nice, typical homemade food, a winter warmer. Makes me miss home cooked food back home for sure!
This trip has definitely made me less fussy with food, usually I refuse to try food if I don't know what's in it but here I've just tried pretty much everything given to me and liked pretty much everything. So it's definitely a good thing!
Played games after dinner, charades on iPad where a person has to hold the iPad on their forehead and the audience has to act the word out and the person holding the iPad has to guess what it is. It's great fun!
