An early start this morning, we were picked up at 7am. It was a private tour so it was only the three of us which was lovely.
It took about two hours to get to the floating market. The driver was really lovely, pointing out all the main sights and suggesting a few things for us to do. Bless him.
We went on a boat and went around all the different market stalls. People were so so persistent though and kept trying to sell us things snd when we were just looking at something they put it in our faces and tried to give us a price for it. No thank you! It just put us off even more which is a shame for them.
We did see a man holding this adorable lemur and he asked if we wanted to have a cuddle (for a price of course) but me and Pippa just couldn't resist holding it so we got out of the boat to have a cuddle and a photo with it. It was called Baby and he/she kept looking at me and wouldn't stop making eye contact, sooooo cute! We renamed him Owl because of the eyes. I asked if I could take Owl home and the man panicked for a bit lol! I would love to though! I never thought I'd be wanting a lemur for a pet lol!
Walked around the markets for a bit after getting off the boat. All the markets in Thailand are pretty much the same - you can find the same things everywhere you go!
We drove onto Phetchaburi where we went to a Buddha cave. Before going into the cave there were monkeys everywhere. Not very good looking at all though. Bought some food to feed them with and some were so greedy and grabbed more than one at the same time!
The cave was amazing, beautiful really. They are really into their religion here compared to back at home and other countries I've been to.
We were so hungry after an early start so we couldn't wait for our lunch which was included. It was a three course meal! We had coconut milk soup with prawns for our starter. For our main course it was a mixture of dishes with rice but there was one really nice spicy curry which I loved. Fruit for dessert.
We went to the palace where the king used to live in the olden days. It was right at the top of a hill so we took a cable car up. The views from the palace were lovely.
We had to cover up before going in so I looked like an old woman wearing a wrap skirt and a shawl lol! They colour coordinated our clothes thankfully so it didn't look too bad.
The palace was beautiful. Although in the space of 20 minutes I hit my head really hard whilst going up the stairs which is so typical of me and I almost got attacked by a monkey! Not good but I have to laugh!
Went to a temple afterwards and wow. So many Buddha statues too. Really interesting. They build their temples beautifully here.
Once we got back to the hotel we felt we had to tip the driver as he was absolutely brilliant.
Relaxing evening and cereal again! I'm happy with that for now until it runs out which won't be long lol!
Off to Bangkok again tomorrow for the night. A much shorter journey than the last one thankfully!
