What a fun and active day!

Went on a bike ride this morning with some others. Since I haven't ridden a bike in about 10 years, I was a bit nervous as I was out of practice.
At first there was a problem with my gears so of course that didn't help me when everyone went speeding off and I couldn't keep up! But the man managed to fix it and I felt a lot better! The road was so bumpy at first, my arms were hurting after a while! But eventually it got smoother and became more enjoyable. Pleased to say that I was near the front most of the time :D one girl, Kelly, who is tiny (smaller than my mum), was incredibly fast! She stopped the most to take photos and still went speeding right up to the front! Ended at this salt lagoon. Beautiful! I thought we were going to ride back too, but nope that was the end of it :( I was disappointed as I would have loved to carry on for another hour and half. Never mind!

We got back in time for lunch so I grabbed a sandwich before checking the shops out. I bought two really thick socks and a thermal long sleeved top as I wasn't convinced I had enough warm clothes. Hopefully I have now!

Got back in time to go sandboarding. That was fun! The hardest part was walking up the hill to board down. Walking uphill in sand is not easy! Fell over many times at first but got the hang of it and perfected it in my last few hills and didn't fall over! So I was pleased with myself of course :p it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Afterwards we went to a place somewhere in the Atacama desert and the views were amazing! Had a pisco sour to celebrate. Took many photos and a couple of us jumping but it was very difficult to capture a good one of everyone jumping as people jumped at slightly different times!

Got back and finally had a shower! Had sand everywhere! So I was glad to get rid of it all lol!

It was so cold tonight in the restaurant as it was an open roof restaurant with a fire in the middle. So I couldn't wait for my food to warm me up! I had a real winter warmer - beef in a chilli and garlic sauce which was so nice and warmed me up!

Popped in the shops afterwards and bought water and toilet paper for the next 2 days where we'll be staying in really basic places and possibly no showers :(

Salt flats tomorrow for 3 days/2 nights! I cannot wait! :D
