In Saigon for two nights before continuing to Cambodia. Staying at Faifoo Boutique Hotel a bit further from District 1, but not _so far. Slept away the jetlag tiredness and then took a taxi to Dan Sinh Market, an inside market area packed with moto parts, electronic and..lots and lots of army gear ;D
Bought a bag for 3$ (~2,4€), nice combat fabric. ;) Bargain, and then again bargain, but if you smile a lot while you do it, you'll get about what you want. ;) We did.
Then a taxi to Quan Bui restaurant, where we ate ourselves full with really tasty food for pretty cheap. And tasted local beer, Sai Gon, actually a very nice pilsner. And very cheap, too, naturally. For about 50 (euro)cents/bottle 0,5l. :D
Taxis are very reasonably rated, and we preferred taxis over motos. Motos look a wit bit dangerous (and frankly, sitting behind a sweaty, old guy isn't the thing I wanna do. I prefer taxi with air con. Yeah, I may be old, too..haha :D )
HCMC is pretty toumg town, so not that much too see in this town, actually. So if soending more days here, go to see the Vietkong tunnels outside the city. Dunno, maybe we go there nezt time. But if you're claustrophobic, don't go! They looked veeeery small. :P
Also, people prefer the Dong here for paying, rather than $, but keep them handy too, just in case.
