Our place, the Nefatari Villas were very nice. We had our own villa, with terrace and own pool(!). And the places own driver takes you anywhere you want to go with a car, almost at anytime (inside Ubud area). We went to wander tobthe town, relatively small, many tourists, but not too many yet. But the place has somewhat really nice atmosphere. People are friendly, but everywhere you better be specific with your money and if you want to buy something, remember to Always(!) bargain!!! Otherwise you'll be ripped off. ;) We went to the Sacred Monkey Forest, which was fun. Monkeys were funny, but don't bring bananas or some of them will be on you&steal them from yiur hands ;) Went to dinner in a very good restaurant called Casa Luna! Midpriced, but the food was very good!! Then a swim in our own pool & own privacy at the evening with some beers. Nice. :)
