I'm here! Arrived at 8.30pm after hours of sitting on planes, being stared at by the Chinese and often laughed at, especially when one spills water over the passeneger next to one. Well done me. Went to a couple of Chinese style bars/clubs on arrival at the hostel. VERY bizare environment but uberly cool and so totally cheesy - the Eye of the Tiger and Five being popular choices of music! Didn't get to bed till 2am having only slept for a couple of hours on the plane. It's a wonder i'm still awake.

We went to the beach today, as well as exploring Haikou. The weather's lovely and sunny so all are in happy moods, despite jet lag. Due to start Mandarin lessons tomorrow, which will be extremely useful, sales people just love to charge us ridiculous prices for the most basic of things. We are getting stared at a lot too, with several "hellos" complete with wild laughter as we pass!
