We arrived in Sihanoukville after a 4 hour bus journey at about 13.00hr, after being surrounded as usual by hotel promoters trying to get us to stay at there hotel we choose to stay at Monkey Republic. We then got a motorbike to there (A little challenging with are big rucksacks but since they can fit 6 people on 1 motorbike it was not problem to the driver!!
We arrived a Monkey Republic, checked out the rooms a bit basic but clean and only $6 per room per night so we decided to stay there. After getting some lunch (Heinz bake beans on toast with cheese it was fab!!) we headed to the beach and spent the afternoon there. Not as relaxing as a beach should be due to the high numbers of children sellers, selling bracelets, manicures, pedicures, threading and fresh fruit. We made the mistake of giving eye contact and chatting to them, they then don't leave you alone even after you saying no thank you so to cut a long story short Suzie brought 1 bracelet and I brought 2 (But I paid less for my 2 than Suzie paid for her 1).
Tonight we ate at a restaurant near the beach which was very nice. We then checked out the nightlife of Sihanoukville which is very good so we therefore didn't get to bed until 04.30am.

After a late start due to hangovers im pleased to say Suzie's was alot worse than mine for a change we made are back to the beach for the day. Lesson learnt we both sat with are heads in are books said a polite no thank you to the children selling and then carried on reading it works they leave you alone. One of the sellers from yesterday remembered me as I'd shown an interest in having my legs threaded big mistake!! (They use cotton thread to pull you hairs out it's meant to last for 4 weeks) it was one of the most painful experiences of my life; I nearly paid her to stop!! and they don't even feel hair free.
We had been talking to a man on the beach that does a boat tour of the islands surrounding Sihanoukville which sounded good fun so we booked that for Monday and used the internet before getting a shower and going out for dinner. We went to a bar on the beach front after dinner as there was a full moon party going on with fire dancers which where amazing to watch. We got chatting to a couple of girls from England so are intention of being home by 1am due to boat trip turned in to 2.15am, never mind!!

This morning we had to be at the ferry port at 10am for are boat trip, free coffee and cakes on arrival so Suz was a happy bunny. We then sailed for about an hour and half the sea was quite rough so we both ended up feeling sick. We then docked for swimming and snorkeling unfortunately as the sea was rough the visibility wasn't very good for snorkeling but still we had a nice swim.
After lunch which was really good we were then taken to Bamboo Island, we had to swim from the boat to the island which looked alot closer than it was. Once on the island we walked through the woods to the other side of the island, it was so deserted and peaceful really nice so we had a swim and a walk and then swam back to the boat. From the island we then sailed back to the port we got back about 17.00hr.
Tonight we met an Australian girl for dinner who we'd met on the boat. We all went to a Swiss restaurant and had a proper cheese fondue it was so good (We did find it amusing being able to get a good cheese fondue in the middle of Cambodia). From the restaurant we all went for a drink which turned into another 04.30am ending!!

After a very late start I had one of my monster hangovers, Suzie made her way to the beach at about 13.00hr I couldn't quite face it so I stayed in bed a little longer and followed her down about a hour and half later. So we spent the afternoon on the beach again and then made our way to the internet cafe to update the blog as we are a few days behind. After we have finished here we will get a quick shower, go for some dinner and then get a early night we are both knackered and we are getting a bus to Siam Reep at 07.00am.
