So where have i been- well turns out everywhere very quickly -am all over New Zealand! Left Kaikoura for Picton - which is the gateway to Wellington and the north island, then very quickly made it round to Abel Tasmin with a brief stop in Nelson and a trip to the Salvos (had to buy a jumper- cold). Decided not to get off at Nelson as it was raining and Abel Tasmin had more going on. Love the big orange bus. It just goes round and round and you can get off and on when you like- Driver of the century has to be Nemo- all kinds of banter, shamels, black cows, no smoking towns, and dangerous bridges just a few of his best lines! Ledge!
Abel tasmin was awesome. Stayed at Old Macdonalds farm in little huts. Evenings where spent in the kitchen and in a little shack where there was sometimes a fire in a bin! Day in Abel Tasmin went to plan. The sun came out in the afternoon just in time for our lazy cruise back from A. Bay, after our relaxing 3 hour walk. Loving the walks. They are free and beautiful! As long as your camera is working and your feet dont hurt its the way forward. The guys on the bus are awesome too! DJ Boobs and MC Nevis, Kate the Ledge and Mags -Lots of love! Big Orange Bus rocks!
Left the next day for Barrytown. Jo and Mikey- you know it! Barrytown has a population of 40people so of course its heavily overcrowded and there is always loads going on. In fact Barrytown has one bar, one barmaid and the rest is history. With our three dollar bags of clothes from the charity shop we had to create our own fun- as every bus has done and will do after us- this people...will explain the outfit...and no I do not still have it! See photo of me with eyes shut! Barrytown -
