So Now im in chile! Surprising for me at least.. as before I left Auckland.. Im not gona lie I was pretty unorganised and a bit unsure- the last bit of this trip has come around very quickly! Thanks to Kate I managed to get myself and my bag together and caught the bus just in time to get to the airport !Met some girls from Sutton just before the flight and we all got on the plane to CHile!. Turns out theres a thing called an international date line which meant I had booked my accomodation for the 8th when actually i got there the 7th. In my defence Dad didnt seem to know that either so what chance have I got. You learn someink every day. Right so now im in chile - santiago, and loving it. I need to learn alot more spanish!A blank look a smile and some hand gestering isnt going to help me a great deal outside the cities- i think chilians are pretty used to dumbfounded tourists arriving from NZ! Arrived aout lunchtime and intent on staying awake I went for a walk and in the eveing caught up with Grant and Nerys who I met in NZ. I spent yesterday milling around and recovering from jet lag which I hadnt planned to have! Turns out im only 3hours behind you guys, which is kool- so see you on msn! Today i made it up the mountain to what the lonely planet calls one of the best swimming pools in the world. it is pretty kool with a view of the whole city and the mountains! We think they were filming MTV or the equivilant there- with lookalike tara parma tompkinson presenter. Was pretty kool and im sure we managed to get on chilian TV. Micky Micky bang bang- worst song ever, but the dancing gorillas rocked. Anyway as yet have a vague idea of going to Buenos Airies tomorow. Ill let you know how that works out, 22 hours on a bus, then 22 hours back again in a few days- apparently it can be done- Tom said so- and after all they have good steak....hehe.... Then ill be back to head up northern chile on a backpacker bus called lachamama hopefully an easy crossing into Bolivia and the salt lakes and then its into Peru through lake titicaca and up to Cuzco for my Inca Trail trip!.Cant wait! Apparently Chile is the most expensive of the S.American Countries... I look forward to seeing how it can get cheaper! A wine size bottle of beer for a pound and a mexican feast for 3 quid! Ideal....if i could just work out what people say back to me.. then i wont have to use the blank confused look anymore! When i get back- intensive spanish course for me! Ciao...off to get steak at that place you just mentined - thanks tom!
Love Suz
