So...i think i mentioned this already but after another night at the mexican place...which was like being in someones kitchen -the football blarring in the background....I woke up friday morning and thought hey why not squeeze a trip to argentina into my plans! So friday evening ...always leaving things till the last minute... i tried to book a bus ticket. My thinking was...everyone says its an awesome place and 23 hours on a bus for 30pounds isn't too much off a compromise when you live in England the rest of the time! I guess time and energy are one thing I can afford to spend- lol! Friday night -still in chile ...went out to Toms favourite chillian restuarant...the fat cow! it does rock! Had my first steak in south america and i have to admit even tho i dont eat red meat often and definitely dont like it anywhere near rare---it rocked! The pisco sour and recomended bottle of wine went down well too! I wasnt going to leave anything even tho i do think it could have fed a family of four! The truth is they are about an inch and a half thick and the size of dinner plate. Ended up sitting with a couple of Chillian guys who i think were on a business meeting...or something,, anyway had a broken english conversation with them and the girls and then headed back to the hostel. When i got back had a note on my bed from the guys id met on the plane. They were all heading out out to some club in Barrio Brazil. We did attempt to find the place...but no luck instead managed to find a few other backpackers in a random bar and ended up at the only club still open in Barrio. Decided i like chilly (hehe) very friendly and welcoming! Even the beggers on the street just want to have a good time lol! Anyway got home only to be rudely awoken by my alarm telling me i was supposed to get up and go to argentina! Whos stupid idea was that hey! Anyway did it....went to the bus station... bought a ticket..and got on the right bus...all by way of some small miricle! Un boleirto- is ticket!.. So yeah got on the bus which is pretty good, the seats lie back a bit and they serve you food---alot of bread!!....watched maybe 3 films including mission impossible 3 which cant be bad! i had heard horror stories of being forced to listen to spanish films for 23hours...nightmare. Managed to get across the border and see a bit of the andes too which is pretty amazing really..all for 30pounds. 23hours can you believe! im not gona lie to you it was a long trip but i did sleep a bit and ive never seen mission impossible 3! Arrived 10.00am and was pretty much out the door sightseeing... evitas balcony thing ...although its under construction! Typical. Headed back to the hostel and decided to head to the footie game which was on River Vs Lanus... no bocca games unfortunalty although i think that was probably a good thing..they sounds dangerous...there was a bit of jumping up and down and alot of chanting. River won 1-0 scoring in the 46th minute of the second half! Found out today ...on my walking tour of Bocca - with Steffi....that someone was killed after the match... football is a dum game, who invented it! Slept in big time yesterday oops although everyone here gets up late so its all good..they also dont eat dinner untill 10pm.... Yesterday tried to master the metro system saw san martin and wandered down the shopping street! Did a tour of the Bocca region today -was kool...very colourful with lots of tango dancers! Went to the stadium too...more football! Not brave enough yet to try a tango lesson- i did get kicked out of ballet when i was three! theres no need to go through the trauma again! Right so tomorrow im off to explore the cemetry and then i think its back to Chile. The plan is to get a pachamama tour up into the north of chile,...should be good its been highly recomended! Hoping to pick up some spanish on the way too! Needs to happen! :) Right off to sleep i think, its tough going this travelling lark! 23 hours on a bus!! JOy! lol no environment busting flights for me- im a hard core traveller now! Still cant help thinking that 'Gracias' sounds like 'GrassyArse' which ever way you say it! Moi Bien. Ciao! ###
