All is good after the mud flood. The staff was great, and everyone helped pitch in to get the hostel cleaned up. Mennagio was beautiful. We met so many great people. There was a group of bicyclists who were biking around Lake Como for a charity. And two sisters who were living in Prague for the summer, traveling around. Their family is originally from the Czech Republic. They live in Orlando now, and their dad works for Disney. Totally my type of people. There aren't many places to go at night, so we all partied at the hostel. During the day, we hung out on the beach and went kayaking. I definitely got a head start on my tan. We went down the beach at night after the hostel closed. Really pretty lying out under the stars. Kinda amazing.
Now we are just outside the Aviano Air Force base. Kayleen's friend's husband is stationed here, and she's letting us stay here. So nice. She has one of the tallest dogs I've ever seen. Yesterday we went to Venice. It's so pretty and just like the pictures. We didn't want to pay for a Gondola ride, so we took the water taxi. Kinda the same thing. Kinda. Today we went to Verona. Home of Romeo and Juilet (Guilette). We got off at the wrong train station, but eventually found it. We went to Guilette's house and saw all the love notes people have written on her wall. Then you're supposed to rub Guilett's right breast. Yes, of course I did. Matt didn't, though. I guess he's on good behavior. Anyway, you're supposed to have good luck or a new lover. Not sure which. Our guidebooks said two different things. Either one works for me. Tomorrow, Lorna comes home, and she's having a cookout for the 4th of July. Can't wait.

Venezialines.com Is the gondola ride still very expensive? I've heard it cost around 70 to 80 Euros. I will be going there next week. I wish to experience the romantic gondola ride with my husband. It will be our first time there.
