Bangkok Birthay Blitz

After a 7 hour drive from Siam Reip we arrived in Bangkok for the final time in the late afternoon. Most of us took the opportunity to relax before our big final night out together.

Back into Tuk tuks and off to Khoa San Road for our final dinner as a group. I ordered soft bone chicken but Mel, who is deaf in one ear, thought I had ordered soft porn chicken. We then decided to write a script for a soft porn movie involving chickens (rooster turns up wearing nothing but a leather tool belt, much excited Pucking). Try it in the privacy of your own home. When we had recovered from that Laziz produced a birthday cake for Susan and we all sang happy birthday. (He really is the perfect host.) After that we took a walk up Khoa San Road to watch the crazies at play. We found a bar with a live band and settled down for a good night. After what turned out to be a very good night indeed it was decided that we should all go for a foot massage to round the evening off - as you do. So at 3am a dozen of us lay back, put our feet up and let some little ladies pummel our tootsies. It would be great if it caught on in Inverness but they would probably close at 6pm.

Then it was tearful fair wells as we exchanged email addresses, promised to keep in touch and said our final goodbyes. There was much "if you are ever in Vancouver, Sydney, Lisbon, Gatwick, Samerkand, etc......" Promise Laziz, we will turn up in Uzbekistan one day. And although we pottered around in Bangkok for another day, our big tour had sadly come to an end.
