10 days to go before the first wedding event begins and this house is full of crazy, frantic, slightly stressed and a lot of excited people. Ro and I are the first of many international guests to arrive at the Chahal (prn. chair-hell) residence.
We were told our duties on day 2 - I am time keeper/Jessy's PA on event days and Ro has been assigned as security.. Neither of us are quite sure what being security actually means. Who or what will he be guarding?!
As the first event day draws closer and closer the tension builds, more international guests arrive - the Birmingham crew and super energetic, 72 year old uncle from Canada. At times the house is so busy and noisy you can't hear yourself think. But it's all part of the fun! I'm loving every moment of this.
Our tasks over the last few days have been varied. An itinerary was priority, which took Jasween and I almost 5 hours to complete. This was just the first draft. The brides parents and the bride herself were yet to review and amend it which took another half day.
We also did a bit of last minute gold shopping. And believe it or not the brides wedding outfit was completed a mere 3 days before her big day!
Despite all this mayhem Dolly, Preeti, Pavin and I completed a 4 minute dance routine within 10 hours, to be performed in front of an audience of 500 people. Yikes! And now they ask me to do a speech too! A day before the event! Errrr.. No way! I can't handle anymore responsibility!
I attended a food tasting session for the wedding day lunch. Now the thing about me is I can't tell if a dish needs more salt or spices so I just tagged along for a free lunch. And boy was it delicious.
It turns out Ro's security services were not required and instead he became the on-site handy man, along with all the other men.
