Warm again this morning. Stayed aboard ship today. Carole left with a group of 37 for Cambodia early afternoon. Very heavy rainstorm this afternoon with wind and thunder. Started a new book, "Bury Your Dead" by Louise Penny. Entertainment tonight was a dulcimer player.

Sailing up the winding Saigon River approaching the city. Docked near major buildings. I stayed aboard ship all day but went on the free event this evening where all the passengers visited the tallest building and the a cruise on the river in a classic Vietnamese party boat. The city light were beautiful but it was very hot.

Arrived in DaNang this morning. My tour off the ship included the Cham Museum, an embroidery store and factory, a walk through a vast market, a trip to a very fine Buddist temple on a high point overlooking the city, and a visit to China Beach also known as Marble Beach. Also we're shown many marble statuary and furniture using the local marble from five mountains in the city. Dinner with Paul Deegan, a new speaker.
