WE LOVE BANGKOK!
Well we have gone to town in wonderful vibrant Bangkok. After coming from India it has been a breath of fresh air. The streets are clean, people are very friendly - sometimes they talk too much, the transport system is great and seems much more organised and less chaotic.
We have seen the Grand Palace and Wat Po (reclining Buddha), which was impressive and very grand. The shopping malls are just on a different level to the bullring and China town is huge. Throughout Bangkok on every street there are food stalls and resturants.
All the Indians may have been conservative and wow are the Thais the complete opposite! I have caught Darren out on many occasions, and actually I can't blame him. The girls 90% of them wear minute skirts, shorts, have fantastic figures and are gorgeous! To top it off they carry it off so elegantly and most don't look slutty at all.
(change of writer - Tam is too tired!! You know it IS hard work this travelling lark!!!!) It has been good to change our diet from masala to noodles, however, one could not resist the temptation of calling into the Dubliner for sausage and mash! It was lovely despite the inflated prices! I even had an English paper to read but refused to pay a fiver for guiness - I know I was being a tight arse but the Thai beer is a quid! Bangkok never sleeps and breaking routine has been nice, to go out during the evenings and not be in bed for 10pm Yes - even on our travels we have been in bed by 10!!. We visited a night market (open till 4am), but last night we treated ourselves to a cocktail in a bar on the 37th floor of a hotel. Fab - the view was amazing. Tam was even able to wear a dress (purchsed on our shopping trip) so she was happy and feeling special!!
Today we take an over night train to Ko Samui for a week of luxury on the beach. Many thanks to Tony and Lina for our week stay (wedding present). We are very much looking forward to it. During the week we will decide where to go next.
The computer is fairly slow in the present hostel so we will upload some photos in Ko Samui.
I hope the cold snap in the Uk isnt too bad for everyone and thinking of you all.

Thomas Hello tamara and Darren, Bankok sounds fantastic! Good looking women and guinness only £5 a pint! You should see the price of it in Dublin! Hope you are both well and enjoying yourselves. You must feel at home with the bancockians being so friendly and talkative. Are they as bad as me and Jodean at work? We are having beautiful fresh and invigorating weather here with stiff frosts at night and cold sunny days.Looking forward to some rain next week! See you soon Thomas

Heather & Paul Brrrrr .............brrrrrr.........brrrr........just got out the yak-hats and the heavy jumpers Rich bought us from Napal (sheep wool - yak wool 'very expensive') to wear in the house. Slight scattering of snow on the ground in Birmingham. Christmas lights already going up and Salvation Army playing carols outside the Bull Ring. Wish you were here? If you're interested, Darren, we're clinging onto the Ashes!
Jodean Ho Ho Ho, Merrrrryyyy christmas!! it's only 26 days to go, Tam you will be pleased to know the white board has now been decorated and the snowman and xmas tree is out, just need to have a dig around the cleaners cupboard and find my fireplace!!! hope your both enjoying Thailand, im not jealous... im not jealous :'( lots of love Jodean xxxxx
