The buildings on the HK island side are connected to each other via bridges and elevated walkways so you can walk from one building to the next without stepping onto the street. Again lots of high end boutique stores and high end malls. Also a lot of the more typical Asian (Bangkok) type shops. Walked around a bit and used the largest closed street escalator in the world. Went into a couple of buildings/malls that specialize in electronics and cameras etc.
Bought a bigger backpack. I have been using my current one for the past 8 years on every holiday. It has been to more countries than I have since my parents and sister have also used it. It is starting to show its age, but more importantly it is a little small at 20 liters. I went overboard and bought a 41 liter as I need to transfer weight from my suitcase to get it to 20 kg.
Also got some laundry done. I find it weird that one or 2 pairs of socks always seem to shrink every time I use a laundry service. My last haircut was in Orlando in the USA so I decided to get one. Cost me HKD148 which is a lot considering I get it for free in SA from my sister. Got a great head massage but a lousy haircut!
