Back to Dan's for a brief stopover before travelling to Truro to stay with Kate, Rob and their family in their new house. A lovely, lovely house, helped Rob put up their clothes line. Glad to see that his garage is just as messy as mine! Went to watch Micheal play soccer, won 7-1, Rob coaches them. Went to see the tidal bore on the Salmon river, quite spectacular! Went to the local produce market in the centre of Truro which is a smallish country town with some beautiful homes and public buildings. After 2 days we travelled to Pictou county to meet up with Nikki and Dan. Had a nice lunch at a cafe overlooking the marina and bay. We then drove to Pat and Joyce's and watched the boys playing in the pool. We stayed one night with Nikki at her home in Westville then travelled back to Halifax. Next day we spent with Gareth and Lily, she's such a lovely girl. We explored the waterfront at Halifax which reminds me of the Rocks area in Sydney and had a lovely time despite the rain. The next evening we took Dan out to a restaurant called " the Bicycle Thief " on the wharf in Halifax. We had a delicious meal of pate, lobster and steak, pork medallions filled with seafood and a fillet mignon all cooked to perfection. The ambience, wine and liqueurs complemented the food so altogether a perfect end to our stay in Nova Scotia. Although our visit was a little bit rushed we managed to see all of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. So, onward to the next stage of our trip in England who are absolutely full of themselves with their performances at the Olympics!

Jacki Johnson Sounds like you had a great time connecting and catching up with everyone's lives. The meal at "The Bicycle Thief" sounded wonderful. Warning on the ribbing you will take about the Aussies performance at the Olympics ...saw an article that took the medal count divided by population and number of athletes sent and Australia win! Although I think that is called twiddling the scorecard. :)
