Rebecca & Suellen's Asian Adventure
Hi everyone,
We\'ve had an action packed time since the last postcard.
There were national strikes on in Nepalese schools last Monday so we took the opportunity to go on a half day trip to Bhaktapur, a much less commercialised town vs Kathmandu. We had lunch opposite what is supposed to be the most perfectly proportioned pagoda in the world! Looked alright to us. We were also overlooking the square and fifty men trying to dismantle a huge medieval cart that had been used for a festival. Unfortunately, on arrival at school the next day we found out our school hadn\'t even striked. Oh well.
Last weekend we went to a resort about 10 miles from the Tibetan border to watch a few of the volunteers do bungee jumps. It was a beautiful place, very tropical and we had a great time relaxing, reading and sunbathing. On Friday night we played some hilarious games including musical bumps and the human caterpillar.
Back to KTM and we\'ve booked to go to Pokhara for a long weekend this weekend and stay in a swish hotel, which will feel like luxury. It\'s got indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Pokhara is supposed to be very beautiful, it\'s built around a huge lake. Five of us are going and are planning to take some boats out on the lake and paraglide while we\'re there.
Lots of love
