We arrive at a terminal but are not allowed to use the aerobridge? Instead we are crammed on to buses and taken to the opposite side of the airport so that we can go through customs (oh what fun) only to have to make our way back through the airport to the very gate that they dropped us off at.
We dump our bags, plug in our divices and I find the toilet with the aim to avoid the drop toilet. Success! I do have a giggle at unassumming travellers who have never come across them before who walk into the stall and quickly back away refusing to use such a thing.
I'm still recovering and taking antibiotics. Considering how I felt the night before we left, throwing up and not being able to move, I'm doing quite well...
GN heads off in search of water as I need to keep hydrated. $30+ for 2 bottles of water and 2 green teas - that's reasonable right?! Luckily we prepared for the worst. Roast veg on olive bread - YUM!
In Guangzhou we watch a movie on the laptop, well I do as GN sleeps, his body weaved in and out of the chairs arm rests. We charge our phones and wish these 4 hours would pass quickly... and they did surprisingly.
All in all, China Southern and Guangzhou (voted worst airport) hasn't been that bad on account of preparing for the worst and having the lowest of low expectations. Winning!
