Six Months Baby
We arrived in Melbourne after travelling for three days from Bryon Bay, via Belligen, seals rocks and Sydney. For the first few days we stayed at Tina's and Ross's, friends of Matt family, which was very kind of them.
On our second day we went to our first Oz rules game, the North Melbourne Kangeroos vs Port A and for some reason we became Roos fans and even brought scarfs to prove it. The game was played at the Telstar Dome, which was amazing, 53,000 capacity, but this game only had 16,000 but looked massive. Some how we blagged our way in and got brilliant seats for $10 when they should of been, about $30 cool. THe roos won, we must be lucky. THe game looks quite easy but rough, and was quite exciting. Once we found our feet in Melbourne we moved in at the Greenhouse hostel on Flinders Lane just off the main street. Our first night out was the legendary Neighbours Night, the guests were Izzy, Karl Kennedy and Toadie, oh Izzy is so fit, but to small for me, i bet she will be so disoppointed, i wish. We all got our pictures taken with them and had a short talk, izzy is so fit, sorry. THen Karl performed with his band on stage and we partied and got very drunk indeed. A very Cool night.
Also during our time in Melbourne we went to the Casino, which was huge and well over the top, but a good laugh. We all went on night and only took $20 dollers with us so we couldn't lose to much however, i walked away with an extra $40 to my name as i won $60 on the Roulette table BONUS! Dan and Matt cut their loses and quit. It was a really good night, as before hand we went for a really nice on the South Bank (river side) meal with Tina, Ross and Paul. We also went on a bar crawl around Melbourne which was alright as it only cost $2 so you cant go wrong.
On another night we went to a Observation tower which overlooked the whole of the city with some amazing views overlooking the stadium, Albert Park and the CBD.
Now to the funniest part of our trip so far, you will love this.
Oh before this we also went to see the Kangaroos vs Melbourne a derby at the MCG well half a MCG, sadly we lost but it was rather tight at one point, we came back from about 40 points.
Now to saturday night. To set the scene, we were invited to a fancy dress party by a friend of Robs who was friends with Ross and Tina. He said we didnt need to dress up and you can guess what we said. During the week leading up to the party we visited a fancy dress party as you can see with dan and matt. I dressed up as Bat Girl. Anyway they were to expensive, so we went with the cheaper option, the charity shop. The women in the shop went wild, bringing us loads of womens clothes and shoe, all sorts. We decided on three lovely numbers, you girls would of been proud of us. If you couldnt tell we were Cinderella and the two ungly sisters. So once saturday came we asked this girl if she could do our make up, she agreed however she didnt have much on her, so she called her friends and a minute later there were another 6 girls in the room helping out, great fun. We looked sick. On to the walk to the train station, wolf whistles, shouts, stears all in good fun. we were also carrying a crate of beers as well, what a sight. When we got to the station we found out we had to wait 30 minutes for a train, even better. Once the train arrived we cracked open a few beers on the train to relieve the nerves and stress. Then these two blokes walk over, us thinking they wanted a beer, but they wiped out two badges, transport police badges, to our surprise. Just what you need when you are dressed in grag. Well they told us you couldnt drink on the trains, Oh s***, that will be a $250 fine or a night behind bars, dressed as women, great! We played dumb, as we didnt know that and they asked us for ID, however we didnt have any, its getting better. I think they saw the funny side and as we were english they let us off with a warning, however they did think dan was lying about his name as they thought his name was a girls. So after that we did not drink for the rest of the journey and rather crapped ourselves.
We eventually got to the party, and everyone loved it we even won a prize for the funniest dressed and we abused some ozzies in the process, a very very funny, however it did not finish there. Sadly our cabby could not drop us off at the hostel only the station so we had to walk back, and did we get abused by some very drunk people, so we put our heads down and walked very quickly home.
Well that really ends our adventure in Melbourne however we did have another night down the Casino, where we watched a bloke win over $4000 on the roulette table in a matter of gos, he was on fire.
