Six Months Baby
Well we arrived in south island in Chirstchurch after a stint in Auckland. We were straight onto the Kiwi Bus and off across the lsland to a place i cant not spell. But it begins with a M and is below Greymouth if you are looking on a map. Anyway we stayed the here and ended up dressing up, along with the rest of the Bus in Bin liner, and going to the on sight bar, the Poo Bar renouned on Kiwi Bus as brilliant night and it didnt let us down, Dan looked like some thing like Pretty Women, myself something out of Rocky Horror show and god knows what matt looked like. Dan even won a prize for the best dressed.
Our next stopped was Frans Josef, the Glacier walk. Before we reached Frans Josef, i did some paintballing and Matt and Dan did Gold Panning. PB was well fun with a few others. Then onto FJ. The Glacier walk was amazing, however that morning we watched England beat the Swiss, the it was off to the Glacier. We decided to join the hard core group and do the hard walk. The Glacier was unbelievable, climbing, slipping over, smashing the crap out of the ice and walking waist high in ice cold water. How cool does that sound, it was quality. It was so cold. Oh yeah matt and dan both fell in, the water went up to matts shoulders, well funny.
Then it was off to Wanaka. Wanaka has a huge lake which was pretty nice, however we had to put up with England losing to the All Blacks, and all the abuse from the local, all in a good sprit tho. The next day it was off to Queenstown, the party capital of the Southern Hemishere, we were also meeting Mr Gary Bedford here. Once we arrived we went out with most of our bus, Rob, Tanya, Nadine, Sam and George for a girls birthday, got rather plastered and stayed out till about 6 in the morning with out realizing, so drunk but a good laugh.
Once Bedford arrived we started to do the activities available to us and our budget, our first was the 43m bungy jump off a Bridge, what a buzz, matt got dunked in the river lol. The next day we did our 2nd jump after England lost to Portugal. This was call the Ledge, and you could run off this one. I decided to tie my St Georges flag around me and jump off, it looked quality and the view was brilliant.
The next three days were spent learning how to fall on your arse professionally, or as some call it Snowboarding, the first two days we learned how to do it and Matt and me got it pretty well. On the second day Dan and Gary persuaded me and matt on to a Green slope, did that hurt or what! my bum was black and blue, so's was matts we didnt look. The next day we moved slopes to the The Remarkables, and by the 3rd day we seemed to have got a good idea and started to enjoy it a bit more and by the end of the day i eventually got down the whole green hill with out falling over once which was a great feeling at the end.
During our snowboarding we also went out a few times and tried, the famous teapots in the World Bar (cocktails) it was quite funny drinking out of a teapot.
In our last few days in Queenstown, we did our last bungy jump, the huge and infamous Nevis, a 134m jump towards a very shallow river, out of a cable car, safe ay? We had to get this tiny cable car out to the jump site, which was quite nerve racking, i was the third to jump, being the fatty i am now, and oh my god it was amazing, quality all the words i have used so far could explain the jump, what an amazing buzz afterwards. Sadly that brought our time in Queenstown to an end off up the east coast, back to Chirstchurch. On our journey tho we got on a good bus with some really good people who we ended up saying with on the bus for the rest of our trip. On our way up the coast we stopped at Chirstchurch again and a place called Kaikoura however we couldn't stay that long as we had to get gary back to Auckland. Getting a ferry to the North Island to finish our trip around the South Island.
