Stu On Tod
Alrite I know Im very behind the times so here's the plan!! Im gonna skip to south america, sorry bout that guys! Right so any way after arriving in Chie with the expectation of shooting up to Peru I am informed by an airport helper in rather sketchy English, its the 3rd sir not the 2nd.... a few choice words later I get my act together! After spending a night 'hanging'in Chile I finally arrive in Peru!! 2 nights before my tour starts to blow and blow i did sleeping reading, jet lagged, party lagged, sun over exposure!! Basically recovery period. lol Woke up at 11 at night hungery so had to go for a browse round down town lima at night by my self interesting, have to say I wasnt too worried, intill I met up with my tour group and found that word on the street was dont go out after dark inless for good reason and then do so in a big group.... So any way on the 5th met my group and will u belive it but 6 out of 15 are from arounfd canterbury!! So any way first day checked out Lima abit more! looked around a monastery! Then JOurneyed to Pisco, our next stop. i was told about the weather changes based on regions before I came but nothing can prepare u for the extremeness of it. K, so Lima is very over cast English winter style chill, 2 hours drive out side Lima yr into rolling sand dunes and blazing sun shine!! PERU IS AMAZING!!! So any way woke up in Pisco and straight into the morning activity, which was a cruise round the ballista islands home to a massive diversity of wildlife! Wicked one beach actually had about 200 sea lions on it and this is a very small beach! birds flighing over head inflocks and trrust me nothing like you have ever seen, not -oh look that flock has flying over head for at least 40 seconds there were probably about 600 hundred birds there, Woh,... OH no more like we have been here 20 minutes and there still coming- tens of thousands to each flock. Good trip In the afternoon we struck into the desert to a oasis surounded by a small village. From this location we were supposed to do sand boarding so im thinking how do we get to top of these dunes some of which are 50 meters or so high and im thinking dont tell me were going down those sides, like vertical... litterally a rollercoaster but yr in a car... wicked fun but absoltely s*** scary but very very wicked fun. Boarding was amazing too, Ben would be proud 3 seconds of flying followed by the uncontended biggest wipe out of the entire group.... Sand in my ears eyes mouth, I couldnt even see for 3 minutes my eyes where so full of sand! Easyly one of the best days of my entire journey just banging!! THe next day we spent sunbathing by the pool and going on cultural trips which where really gd! particularly visting the pre-inca graves deep in the desert which had been opened for torists and so u can inspect the mummies. That night we took a night bus and that brings me to here!! Been pimping my self up with Inca gear such a class act!! Head band water holder, inca spirts which taste abit like sambuca ponto if thats how u spell it gloves socks its all good!! The snow capped Andes have come into sight and for that challenge I have been told to come prepared and so I will! What an amazing country!! Till next time with love stu xxx
