A long line awaited us as hordes of the devoted faithwell waited to walk through Santa Maria's house, the place where the Virgin Mary allegedly died aged 65 years of age. From there a short bus journey to the ancient city of Ephesus. A very impressive ruin stretching over a huge area, the highlight had to be the Ephesus library. I can't stop thinking, however, that the ruin still looks more developed than the London 2012 Olympic venues. On the return we were taken to a carpet factory for a demonstration on how they make handmade carpets and also to a genuine Turkish leather outlet complete with catwalk, music, lights and zzz-list models sporting the latest fashion - 1970s Italy- ...nice!!! Our hotel, Hotel Bella, in Selcuk was adorable with amazing food so stay there if you ever visit Ephesus.
