Despite our best efforts to extend our check-out time as late as possible, the inflexible staff would only let us stay in the suite until 1300 so we checked out at the allotted slot and decided to kill time in town. However, before heading out we craftily managed to retain access to the lounge so we could at least help ourselves to the complimentary food and, if we were lucky, could still use the free wifi access.
The transfer to the airport wasn't until 2100 so we had plenty of time to chill but, true to form, the internet access was disabled. Not to be outdone, and knowing that the password system was just the guest's name and room number for login and password, I decided to try a few combinations. No luck.Damn.What about guest and guest, I thought, as they must have provision for providing access to non-residents.Bingo.We spent the rest of the evening catching up on emails and Facebook!!
KL airport is massive and was pretty empty but it was World Cup England versus Germany night so we rushed through check-in, got directions to the nearest TV screen and stood behind the seated crowds eagerly watching the game!
I have to say I'm not much of a football pundit but it looked to me like England had better possession and that Germany were just strong, relying on the break to undo England who seemed decidedly weak down the left hand side of the pitch.Terry's goal was obviously clearly in and we just had time to see Germany's 4th goal before dashing to the departure lounge for the 0030 flight to Beijing.
