Finally mum & dad have arrived! Seem to have been looking forward to seeing them for weeks now. We decide to grab lunch at the airport to catch up before heading to Mount Eden - an extinct volcano cone that is now covered in the greenest grass you've ever seen. Again great views are provided from the top. We check into our motel with mum & dad (a treat for a couple of days!) and head out for a wander around Auckland Domain where we see a band playing in the bandstand (don't see that back home any more). Have a great meal in the evening where we sample the local delights - lamb, venison and seafood. Head to Devonport on the ferry in the morning and walk around the extinct volcanoes there and along Devonport beach. In the afternoon we visit Kelly Tarltons Underwater World to see the local marine life and take a trip around the antarctic! That evening we treat ourselves with a meal at the top of the Skytower which was great and the views equally as good.
