Hello Singapore!

We had the one night booked in Singapore, we both agree, would like to stay for at least another night or two. Singapore is clean, safe, and a shoppers heaven! (Luckily for me our bags are rammed, not even room for a rizla paper, let alone tops / shorts / shoes etc!). My girls would love it here (and George & Rob ).

Hotel is nice, edge of China town, booked a tour yesterday, starting off at gardens of the bay. The whole area was once sea, now a tourist magnet of tropical plants, trees and man made ariel walkways and lit up 'trees'. Got us thinking of chrimbo, as there was an evening light show with music- all christmas themed, triggering Mich's emotions...., (swear she was an elf in past lifes) we can't wait for xmas with the famalam in Oz!

Marina Bay Sands hotel is the place to stay if you got a spare few hundred quid...we had a nose, and took the tour to the roof, its the shape of a boat, spanning 3 seperate hotel buildings, stunning. Check the pics. Naturally 'why didnt we stay here?!' was asked a few times.....next time love, promise!

To rub salt in, when we got back to ground level (from 200m, 57 floors), we walked through a spotless, designer infested shopping mall, which we walked through to get to our boat tour around the bay (no room in the bags remember ), the casino within the mall takes around $7 billion combined with another casino in Singapore, worlds No 1. (vegas 3rd)

All sounds great, but only if you behave...crime rate is low, have not seen any graffiti, or witnessed any one littering, the place is immaculate. If you do, and caught, $200 fine 1st offence, $600 and court, with mug shot in local paper for 2nd offence. Cars are discouraged by the government, you need a permit which can cost around $50k, if your lucky enough to get one, theyre limited. On the plus side, government help locals live, apartments subsidised by upto 80%, regardless of age.

Being a small city, we hopped on a city bus tour to take in all the sights, which finished off a lovely short stay in Singapore! We both want to re visit in future years (yes, in the Marina bay Hotel!!). Bring on Melbs, Albs & Ryan! Cant wait to see our ginger ninja, been a year!! xxxx
