Wednesday 17th December-
Yesterday we went on a tour of Phi Phi islands. We got on a big speedboat from Ao nang, there were about 40 of us on it. First we went to see 'Viking Cave', which apparently has some birds nests in it, and some pictures painited on the walls to do with the vikings or something. We saw Pileh bay, which was a pretty lagoon, to take some photos, and then we stopped at Lohsamah Bay to do some snorkelling. Helen hadn't snorkelled before and Chris wasn't very experienced, so it took both of us a while to get used to it. There were a lot of colourful fish swimming right up to us. We tried taking some photos with an underwater camera so it will be interesting to see how they turn out! A man on our tour started having a panic attack because he couldn't touch the bottom and he started shouting 'Help!', so Chris swam over to help him, but another man go there first. Next we went to Monkey bay. We couldn't go on it but there were lots of monkeys in the trees right infront of the boat so we could feed them and take photos. Then we went to Maya bay where they filmed 'The Beach', and we had about half an hour to relax on the beach. Then we went for lunch on Phi Phi Don. It was a nice buffet of rice, chicken dishes and fish things, some salad and also some fruit. After lunch we went to Hin Klarng and did some snorkelling in the open sea, which was exciting! Our last stop was Bamboo Island where we had an hour to do what we liked, so Chris did some more snorkelling and Helen relaxed on the beach.
Thursday 18th December-
Today we went to 'Ya's Thai Cookery School'. There was just 2 of us in the class which was quite cool. Our teacher Ya was nice and funny and said 'mmm' a lot. She told us about different vegetables and spices, and demonstrated how to cut things up. We cooked 9 dishes altogether, some of them were very spicy. We made a few curries and stir fries and rice dishes. We ate them at the end, although we couldn't manage to eat much because we got quite full and Chris couldn't handle the spicyness. We got to keep a little recipe book each as well.
