We made it! The trip to India went smoothly...no delays, our luggage made it, and our airport transfer showed up. Good start to the trip. The hotel we were supposed to stay in was overbooked so we ended up in a different one. Not the best of hotels, but it was a place to stay and we were really tired after traveling for about 35 hours. Got up in the morning and went to the hotel we were supposed to stay in and it is pretty nice. Tried to go to the bank to take out some money but were unsuccessful...will have to try a different bank. Went out for our first authentic Indian cuisine at a restaurant called Spicy by Nature. I had chicken tika masala and Jen had a butter chicken which were both pretty good. I also had to sample the local beer, Kingfisher, which I've had before. We are at the hotel right now and as I am writing this, a hawk flew up to our window and hung onto it for a while. Weird. We met with our group tonight, 2 girls and a guy from the UK, and 2 ladies from Denmark. They are all only on a 2 week tour of just India, so we will have about a week of our tout where it just Jen and I and the 2 guides. Went out for dinner with the group and got to know everyone a bit and then came back to the hotel and went to bed early...still pretty exhausted. Tomorrow we spend the day in Delhi and then head to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. That's about it for now...should have some pictures to post tomorrow as I think we are doing city tour of Delhi. By the way, it was about 25C here today, how's the weather back home? Later skaters!

Lorrene A hawk?! A hawk?! What kind of hawk?!?! Boy are you guys going to be sad when you turn into birders in your old age, no longer can travel to far-flung places, and you missed out birding at all the places you have been so far! But it is great to hear you've made it there and are sampling the local culture. 25C does sound nice right about now - enjoy!
