I know this isn't a blog post about the happenings of our trip. We just wanted to mention about the water treatment system we have been using. It is sad the amount of plastic especially water bottles that are littering our world. This is especially bad in underdeveloped countries where they don't have the recycling programs we do. So far on our travels there are always water bottles littered in the most beautiful places. Before we left we purchased a Steripen UV light system. It is a small device that costs about 80 dollars. You fill up a water bottle turn the device on and stir it in the water for 90 seconds. At that point your water is drinkable! We haven't been sick from the water treated by the Steripen. It has also saved us some money and the hassle of buying bottled water. If you are going to a country where drinking water from the tap is a health hazard we recommend using a Steripen. Just our 2 cents in trying to make the world a better place.
