Our next location in Vietnam was a beach town called Nha Trang. We were all excited to get to the beach and see some sun. Unfortunately a 10 hour day train was in the way. Needless to say no one was too thrilled to have to take it. It wasn't India bad but not great. My seat was in permanent recline mode and the cockroaches sharing our journey were a bit disconcerting. We arrived in Nha Trang late in the evening to head straight to bed. Nha Trang was considerably warmer but unfortunately overcast. The rain clouds seem to be following us. The first day in Nha Trang we headed over to an island called Vinpearl. Here you tale a gondola/cable car across. While there you have unlimited use of the amusement park, video games, aquarium and of course water slides! We spent the whole day there. I am sure if you really safety tested the water slides they wouldn't be up to safety code. Dave announced to us that evening that he noticed the cable car didn't have a safety cable. It was nice he pointed it out after we made it safely across to the main land.
The next day we took some time to sort out our UAE visa for the 4th time! I am happy to report we were able to submit it and I think we already have confirmation. Erin we will be there. I was tempted to say to hell with the visa and sit on a beach in Thailand for a week but we really want to visit Erin. After we got our visas processed we walked to a buddha temple. It was a nice place for a break after the craziness of the city. From there we decided to go out to the mud spas. Yes I said mud. You order up a tub of lukewarm mud and soak for a while. After that you shower in mineral water, soak in mineral water and then get a jet shower with more mineral water. It was a relaxing afternoon other than having no idea what were supposed to do!
All on all it was a great 2 relaxing days. Now off on an overnight train to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

Lorrene We just got the recent National Geographic magazine about some phenomenal caves in Vietnam! Probably no chance you will be there but something to go back to see maybe in the future. Happy to hear you are enjoying your travels there.
