Hey! I arrived in La fortuna yesterday after saying farewell to my american friends! Got a taxi from liberia with a couple of people from england (lockie and cat) to a town where we could connect with a bus that would take us to La fortuna. We were told that it would take 3hours by car and cost $15..great! 45mins later we arrived...refusing to pay the full fare as he blatenly tried to rip us off he tried to steal cats bag and drive off...think he picked the wrong bag as she nearly wrestled him to the ground!!! He then turned up 2mins later with the police who in the end agreed with us (after a long conversation...think the whole town turned out to see what was happeneing) and sent the taxi driver away...whew!! After abit of a stressful day we relaxed in Baldi spring baths which has 7 different thermal pools (heated by the volcano) and a choice of three bars in the water! I met up today with a group of people i met in Puerto Viejo ,where we went to an amazing waterfall and swam in the cool waters before heading up to see the volcano which has been recently very active. Heading tommorow to monteverde (think thats how you spell it) before heading to the pacific coast! hope you like the photos! speak to you all soon! stew
