stews travels
Hey!
Well it been a pretty crazy week or so since i left puerto viejo. Ive met up with a group of americans (5girls and a guy) who have been amazing and we travelled to bocas last saturday. We rented a house which was built on stilts on the water, where we saw dolphins and a huge variety of weird and wonderfull fish from our living room...you could see the fish through the gaps in the floor boards. It is truely beautifull there and from speaking to other travellers we were so lucky with the weather! It only rained for 2hours on our last day and we were snorkling so it didnt make much diference anyway! The coral was incredible, and we managed to see some squid and lobsters. We visited a variety of beaches where you have to get a water taxi there which only cost about $2. If you are not staying on the main island then you have to get a water taxi everywhere...its not a problem but they fail to tell you that on weekdays the water taxi's stop running at 12am...a kind bar man offered us a really comfortable looking wooden bench (thank you abdul) to sleep on which was better than sleeping on the street but as it turns out, lady luck was smiling down on us and we heard a boat passing and manged to hail it down (thank god i could whistle!) so it turned out fine!
On wizard beach we managed to see a few sloths! It was really cool to see them and with the help of the park ranger (and a massive metal stick) we got to see it up close...they move slower than you think..i know if someone was prodding me with a stick i would move alot quicker!
We stayed there till thursday where we left the crystal blue waters for liberia which is in the north of costa rica..we are going to see a volcano ommorow so im going to bed early (had a pretty crazy night last night)
take care and keep the emails comming!
