I'm afraid that the last week has not turn out as well as I'd hoped. As something to read (for both me in the future and any shadow travelling companions I may have out there in blog land), I don't see much point in recording lots of misery. Suffice to say that incessant insect bites, a week of galloping upset stomach and several days of dramtic thunder storms has put a bit of a downer on my last week in Fiji. Another way to put it is that I've been able to get in a lot of reading and spend some quality time with my little netbook computer.

Since I fly out on Sunday, I'm going to start putting a bit more thought into my time in New Zealand. The few folk that I've spoken to have mentioned Queenstown and Nelson as good places to visit, and how spectacular the scenery is, and how common camper-vans are. Maybe I'll hire a camper-van and tour around the South Island … hmm.
