On the recommendation of Davie Palmer I fly into El Calafate in order to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. After sampling almost enough steak and wine in Mendoza I took the 20 hour bus ride to Bariloche, located further south in the Argentine lake district. We leave Salta for a night in the town of Cafayate. I can actually remember how to spell and prounouce it now. San Pedro de Atacama is a very touristy oasis town in the desert but it somehow still has charm.
