Beatrix Potter, Windermere and Keswick - this is todays plan and oh what a plan.
The World of Beatrix Potter situated in Bowness not Hilltop where we expected it to be was enchanting and spell bounding in its entirety. We were drawn into a children's world of woodland animals and with child like wonder as we felt we had stepped into Beatrix Potter's stories themselves. Words cannot do this fantasyland justice we just hope the photos do.
We spent hours there.
It was here at the Windermere jetty we experienced home made Italian ice-cream. Paul Stewart from work had strongly suggested we visit his cousins cafe and ice cream shop and visit we did. A taste sensation as we sat down licking this delectable treat whilst enjoying the pretty scene of launches, canoes and wildlife cruising the quiet waters of Lake Windermere.
4th July - was our rest day. Sat and caught up on our study then took a wee drive to Keswick and had a coffee and cheesecake, then on to Cockermouth to see this pretty little town up past Lake Bassenthwaite before we headed back taking the scenic route and onto The Kings Head for dinner, sigh, now time to turn in for the night.
