We check out of our B&B and check in to our 10⭐️ accommodation with views directly over The Thames we can't believe our eyes. So very appreciative to Clare and Anthony for their hospitality they extended to us.
We settle in and in no time at all we are on the streets of London heading for Buck House where we are expected. Yes Her Majesty is in and we are greeted by two horsewomen and security but unfortunately HRH has double booked as we note certain citizens departing with awards in there hands and the Palace Gates close.
Walk around by Westminster Abbey, visited Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, St James Park, NZ War Memorial, Marble Arch, Hyde Park and finished off at Harrods.
Time running short for an evening out in the Westend; we head for the nearest tube and are walking into our 10 star hotel in no time.
Showered, changed and smelling sweet we head off on our next adventure. Denise is oblivious to our destination(s), and barely resists the temptation to ask 'are we there yet' as we wend our way past a multitude of theatres. Alas no show where we finally enter the doors; however scrumptious pizzas of unique tastes are soon in front of us.
Satisfied we head off and stroll back to the theatres and wander into the crowd milling outside the Lyceum ( oh my goodness oh my goodness - squeals of delight from Denise) where we pick up our tickets for 'The Lion King'.
Grand circle, middle of the row, and four rows back from the balcony rail; we could not have had a better view. We were enthralled, dazzled, amazed and spellbound by the choreography, singing, costumes, colours and production. Truly a sensory feast on the best show we have ever seen.
We stroll sedately back to OXO all the while recounting the show the acting the day .... and find our way back to Clare's where we recount, chat and drink tea our heads full of treasured memories.
