Day Twenty Three. Barcelona to Dubai
We had a sleep in and got up for breakfast at 9am. It was raining which was quite fitting for the last day of our trip. We went to a small cafe situated in a lane running off La Rambla and hoed in to traditional English breakfast. We then did some final shopping before heading back to the hotel.
Thanks to our great travelling companions we were all going home business class. This meant plenty of room and plenty of baggage allowance ( which came in handy as we had over 65kg of luggage!).
It also meant we were picked up by a chauffeur for our transfer to the airport.
We were picked up at noon and the trip to the airport was a little over 30 mins. Once we checked in, we headed to the VIP lounge to wait for the boarding call. We boarded on time and being the first time in business class on the big A380, we busily checked out all of the mod cons. Two screens, plenty of legroom, seats that have internal massage and recline to a flat bed, were some of the best bits. We were served with a champagne before the flight before departing for the 6 hour flight to Dubai.
We got to Dubai around 12:30am for our 10 hour stopover. Luckily for us we had a complimentary hotel room so after going through passport control we were taken on a 5 minute drive to the hotel. Unfortunately the room wasn't quite ready and it was a smoking room but the fact that we could shower and sleep in a proper bed for 5 hours far outweighed any negatives.
