Not the best night's sleep. The street disco under our balcony was pumping out music until the early hours (with hindsight, it might have been best to get back up).

An excellent and totally unplanned day.
We ditched the overnight idea of heading south and decided to head SW towards Sestri Lavante, via Varese Ligure, but, in practice, the road was a bit bigger than we wanted so when we saw a small road, heading up towards a place called Begonia, we took that. Much smaller and much more scenic. Shortly after that turn, we took another right on an even smaller road. This took us on a long hard climb up to the hilltop village of Strela. That diversion lead to a great decent back down to Begonia.
From Begonia a steady climb, over a couple of hours, took us up to and over the remote Bocco Pass. This was very high up and gave us a long, long descent with stunning views. The steep descent took over half an hour.
That brought us down to the coastal town of Chiavari where, after a quick beer, we both went into the Med. for a dip/cool down.
We've now done coast to coast in four days and tomorrow will (probably) head NW and back up into the mountains tomorrow.
Free bowls of nuts in every bar has a teaspoon with it - what a good idea.
