I'll start by saying the single most important thing I have discovered on this whole trip so far... STEAK IS CHEAP. 1KG of Rump steak: $10. That's about £6.50. Problem, England? Honstely, it looks like I'll be living off steak in Australia. Had our first experience cooking in the hostel kitchen, on that topic, meeting people, making friends? It's a doddle. Our trip to Manly in the morning has increased in numbers. Oh yeh, that's the plan. Hitting the markets tomorrow morning, followed by a ferry over to manly. So anybody I've been pocket dialling will rest easy that i'll be picking up a phone case. Saying that though, the pocket dialling has probably been happening the most when I've been out, so it's what... 16:40 right now. With the rolling contract we've got with vodaphone, it really makes no odds to us.
We took a wander up to the rocks early evening so James and Max could check out the bridge and the opera house, and at night, it's insane. I'll be making a 'The best of Australia' album on facebook at some point, but I'm really starting to appreciate my camera. I've beem dubbed the photographer, beive it or not. But that's not due to taking pictures on nights out. I actually haven't taken any on nights out. I know, crazy right?
Anyway, with the full day tomorrow and just past 2am, I'm calling it a night.

Update from that; we went to go to Manly on the , but once we'd gotten our stuff together, gone to Paddy's market and got to the Jetty it was pretty late, so we went for a walk from Darling Harbour round the water to the bridge.

So I've been told to stop talking about the bars and more about Sydney itself. Well, after the last 24hours, I sure can tell you about Sydney... well, the bars in Sydney! Seriously though, if you're family and you're reading this, don't worry, my liver is fine and I'm staying safe. Anyway, so last night we had predrinks in our room and invited people round. WAP OUT THE GOON! It really wasn't terrible. A lot of people have said either: "It tastes like crap" or "It gives you a massive hangover". Neither of which were true! When I woke up (at 12) I felt a bit groggy, but not wanting to waste a day, I decided to go to Manly. Initially planning to go by myself, but Natasha and Luke were getting up too, so they came too. When we got across to Manly, I saw the waves. My first taste of Australian surfing and now I'm hungry. $35 to hire for half a day, I'll be hitting that up next week some time. Wanting to see just how 'cold' the water was, I went in. I gingerly dipped my feet in before fully diving in. It's not cold. Well.. It's like a summer evening in the UK when you get in and it feels a bit cold, but you get used to it within a minute and in no time it's warmer than not being in the sea. The waves rolling in and the water crystal clear. I'll probably use Saturday's free day to hit the surf either at Manly or Bondi. All depending on what I think of Bondi on Thursday. Plan for tonight/tomorrow is: Get an early night. Get up at 4am to watch Italy get beaten by France. If I'm fully awake at that time, I'll go for a run around Hyde park, then the jet boating! Should be a good day! Oh I almost forgot to say! On the steps in the city, they have a flat metal panel which goes up on the left for cyclists to roll their bikes up on. How genius is that?!

Didn't get up for the footy this morning, but went for a run at 9am around Hyde park. Not much to say since last night, but today is the start of OzIntro! Let the fun carry on!

Auntie Gill That's better ;) I like the bike stairways - they've a few in Britain now in the 'cycling' towns. Good to hear you are having fun :)
