For Ali's brother Rob's birthday we were heading down to the south coast for the weekend. We took the train down the South coast line to Gerringong where Rob picked us up having driven down with Rach and the kids earlier, although we also hitch hiked about 1km with a lovely lady who insisted on taking us up the hill to the village centre. We arrived at the campsite, quickly put up our little two man tent and watched the Wildigs and others struggle with their canvas houses which they'd be sleeping in.
Other friends were arriving and we began preparing our allocated meal for the weekend, Friday dinner Steve's coleslaw was a rip roaring success, Alison's spaghetti cakes received a more mixed reception but mainly because people weren't sure what they were. Over the course of the weekend with everyone cooking one meal we ate like kings, we also drank like medieval royalty as well. We spent time on the beach, although the wind made it a little difficult to sunbathe so we eventually made our way back to the cool boxes full of beer and the giant inflatable pillow which James would take each of us on when he decided it was our turn. Another really nice weekend.
