Villa de Leyva´s main square, unlike most of the town´s that we´ve been to is completely empty of trees, benches and the urbiquitous coffee drinking locals. We think it must come to life at the weekend for the markets. We stayed here for 3 nights in a rustic (read barn-like) lodge with an amazingly friendly owner who kissed us hello and goodbye with hugs and ´mi amors´ every time we saw her. Hello again from San Gil a small town in the eastern range of the Andes which run through Colombia. We´ve had a pretty action packed stay here. On Wednesday I went paragliding which was good fun, extremely peaceful to be floating around above the birds. The bombardment of blogs continues, we´re trying to make sure we have an entry for every place we stay. We´re now in Bucaramanga which is a city between the Caribbean coast and Bogota. We´re back in the city of Santa Marta pondering our next move. You´ll find 4 blog entries under the Colombia heading (Taganga, Riohacha, Uribia and Cabo de la Vela) that we´ve uploaded as we´ve not had Internet access for a week or so.
