We arived in Leticia on Friday morning having flown in from Bogota, the only way to reach the town is by air or the Amazon which its sits on the banks of, the descent into Leticia is amazing as from pretty high all you can see is forest, miles and miles and miles of it.
Having jumped in a cab we had a bit of a mad rush to sort out a tour, we were able to do this before finding a hostel as we have dumped over half our stuff in Bogota so for the first time in months we´re not weighed down by a year´s worth of clothing and books.
We have found a trip which leaves on saturday morning and returns Monday and takes us into the Amazon for piranha fishing, a jungle walk, pink dolhpin and cayman watching as well as visiting some of the towns and villages on the banks of the Amazon and its tributaries. Including all meals and accomodation we´re paying the princely sum of 83 pounds each. Not bad.
