The bombardment of blogs continues, we´re trying to make sure we have an entry for every place we stay. We´re now in Bucaramanga which is a city between the Caribbean coast and Bogota. We arrived on Saturday after a 10 hour coach journey from Santa Marta. The journey was less eventful than our previous escapades although the coach did breakdown twice as we crossed the mountains, with fairly dense jungle on both sides we were slightly concerned at the prospect of sitting there for too long. Thankfully the driver and co got the bus going.
Bucaramanga itself is fairly modern with not too many tourist attractions. Having just arrived we were greeted by a familiar voice as Mike, a guy from San Diego who we have, coincidentally, followed to hostels in Montevideo and Cartagena was already here. We went out for a bite to eat and some drinks and were particulalrly impressed to be able to dine at (Super) Mario´s burger bar and have some beers at Moe´s in a Simpsons themed bar.
After a lazy day on Sunday we have spent today wandering around the neighbouring town of Giron, which is picturesque and fairly busy as the whole town were out in force as it´s a bank holiday here.
Tomorrow we´re on the move again heading down through the countryside towards Bogota.
