We travelled for 21 hours on two buses to reach Mendoza, although we are now level with Santiago so will have no more long trips in South America. Mendoza is a very beautiful city which has a very distinct European feel about it with lots of cafes, restaurants, parks and a whole heap of wine shops. Mendoza is the heart of Argentina´s wine region and wine has pretty much dominated our stay. We have spent a couple of days wandering round the town and have been out for a couple of really nice meals with tapas and a great steak. On Friday we went out to visit of local bar with a kind of band/karoake affair before visiting a shack like club in the middle of nowehere with the local àrtisans`who Gemma had befriended.

Today we took the bus to the nearby town of Maipu where we spent the afternoon at a vineyard which was very nice and informative, we are certified wine buffs now! Having had a very relaxing few days we are planning to hit the Andes for one last time tomorrow before heading to Santiago for our flight on Friday.
