Hey Everyone!

Our Road Trip is now over so thought i best update you with all of our antics along the way! I must admit though im hungover again! Its not the best writing it when im feeling like this, oh well i'll give it ago! :-)

Day 1 (3rd Jan)

So Dale made us get up early ready to set off for 9am to Port Macquarie, our first stop off. The car wa jam packed with 5peoples stuff, surf boars and body boards. Was a bit of a squeeze to say the least! Our first stop off was to go and see 'The Big Tree'. The boys took us to Myall Lakes Nature Park to see 'The Grandis', its a huge tree apparenty 75meteres tall. Dale was so excited, we were like yeah its aamzing, just looks like every other tree!! After our exciting stop off we then went to Seal Rock beach wherewe saw some right cool surfer kids, they were well cute! On the way there we got stopped by the police for a random breath check, Dale was a little scared cause appaerntly the lights on his car are illegal, but all was good!

When we finally arrived in Port Macquarie we were driving around what felt like hours trying to find somewhere to stay. Us being the gtast backpackers we are didnt really want to camp, but yeah you guessed right we had to camp. The campsite was pretty cool actually and i didnt mind doing it one night. After i set up our tent single handed (yeah right i didnt have a clue, Claire and Loz did all the hard work i just supervised!) we then went for food and a couple of drinks and eneded up having an early night as we were all tired.

Day 2

We got up bright and early gasping for air. It was a tight fit with the three of us in a two man tent! Today we went to Woolworths and got our breakfast, cereal out of a box, yeah were classy and then headed to LightHouse Beach, apparently we had to go for the view!! As soon as we left the beach the heavens opened and this was the start of the rain to come, we were not impressed! Russ managed to book us into a hotel in Coff Harbour, well thats where we thought we were staying but when we got to the address we were in the middle of a housig estate, the hotel was actually in Woolgoolga 20minutes away from Coff Harbour! It was well funny Russ was gutted! When we finally arrived to the hotel we had to hide Dale as we only booked a family room for 4 and we also had to smuggle Ian in! The hotel was really nice, it was abit of a squeeze i must admit but we coped, 3 in double bed again! That night we headed to the local pub for drinks and food, was only a 2minuyte walk so was really handy. The pubs over here are strange they are all the same, they all look like WorkMens Clubs, but the food was surprisingly good! While we were sitting around drinking the police came round checking ID, we got asked AGAIN! Seriously they ask you everywhere you go! After a few too many vodka and sambuca we headed back to the room about 12pm when the pub closed for a good nights sleep in our big bed!!

Day 3

So today we packed up the car again, well the boys did, readyto go and try and find a hotel in Coff Harbour. Luckily Ian knew a pub where he thought we could stay. After bargining with the owner at the poub he let us have three people in a double room, bargin only had to 15 dollers each! After dumping our stuff in the rooms the boys headed for a surf in the puring rain and we had the whole day to pass!! Coffs Harbour wasnt exactly, how can i put it a happening place - There was nothing there! We found a large shopping centre out of town so Ian dropped us offbeofre surfing. The shops out here are rubbish, so we didnt end up staying there very long so we got a taxi back and thought we would check out the town. We walked around for abit but there really wasnt anything to do and it was still pouring it down! So we headed off to an internet cafe and stayed in there for about 3hours!! We then sat in the bar teach9ing the lads some our drinking games. It lasted about 30mins before the security lady (big burtha-she looked like Miss TrunchBall) came and told us we wernt aloud to play! :-( I tell you they have strange rules, you cant order doubles at the bar, if they think you are drunk they will throw you out, no drinking games, i mean what are aloud to do!! After we got told no drinking games w decided to go for food at a really nice restaurant and then went bowling! We played two games and the competition was gigh again between me and Claire, this time we won a game each!! hehe! After bowling the boys wantd a few beers and headed to a club, but half way through there night they all got thrown out for being too drunk! Opps!! While they went out we went bsack to the room for book club!

Day 4

So today we got up early and headed up North, with weather warning everywhere we were unsure where to go. Dale decided we should go to Woodburn wherehis frineds pub was, he thought we could get cheap rooms. So thats where we went. After a 3hour drive we turned up and it had river had flooded really bad, sand bags were everywhere. After speaking to his friend they said it wouldnt be a good idea to stay as it was going to be flooding really high! So we got back in the car and headed for Evanshead. With the weather rubbish everyone was feeling a little low, we just wanted sun and somewhere to stay! Once we arrived at Evanshead we found a cheap hotel. I had the bigest Migrane so i sleep in the room for a couple of hours while the others played cards. That night we had a chillded out night, we went for food and then watched a film at the pub in the lounge! We were all praying for sun the next day!

Day 5

Dales birthday and YES we finally had sun, there is a god after all! Once we packed up again, we stopped off at Lennox Head Beach where the boys surfed and taught Claire how to surf, well they attempted to!! hehe! No she was good she managed to kneel up and concidering they didnt tell her whatshe had to do they just opushed her into the waves i think she did pretty well!! Me and Loz sunbathed the whole time but i fell a sllep on th ebeach and burnt the back of my legs big time, i looked like lobster so Claire keep saying! No they were really bad, they hurt so much, it was really hard to walk!! Crazy!

After sunbathig we all made a decision to head straight upto Byron Bay and try and book our cabin for one more night. Dale ang up and they fit us in so we were all pleased! We were actually gonna be able to settle somewhere for a couple of days! Once we arriced there they had made a mistakewith the booking and had to out us in a deluxe cabin. Result!! The cabin was really nice, again we had to sneak one person in but it was fine! We then went shopping and got all the breakfast, luches and dinners for the next few nights, thought it woiuld be a good idea to try and save some money!!! That night we just chilled out with a few beers and played cards!

Day 6 (Mum's Birthday!)

The boys wanted to surf so they headed to the beach which was a 5min walk from our cabin and Calire and Loz went with them. I decided to stay out the sun so i just cjilled in the cabin! The girls were back within 30min though as a storm broke out. We werent gonna let this spoil our time though so we thought it was beer o'clock time! Well it was 12 o clock!! We started off with card and when the weather got a little better we went ouside and played bums!! Was a right laugh and for about the first time a didnt have to stand up against the wall!! To be fair i wouldnt have had to anyway because of my sunburn!!:-)

After bums us girles cooked dinner and we relaxed outside with a few beers. It was good us cooking as then the boys had to tidy up! After we had the taste for beer we were up for going out so we had a quick change and headed into town.. Calire stayed at home and chillded though as her tummy was hurting. We went to a cool bar where a guy was playing the guitar he was an awesome singer and then we went into the smallest night club in the world where we danced and drank the night away!!

Day 7

After waking up with a little bit of a headache the lads went for yet another surf and we went into town. I eneded up buying a purse and a bag, which are really nice!! Today my sunburn was hurting as much i was nearly walking normal!! After shopping we decided it was time to book the rest of our trip in Aus, so we went to Travel BNugs and sat there for what felt like hours and sorted it all out. After 1400 dollers our Greyhound Pass was booked, accomdation for the rest of the trip, white water rafting ( I know cant believe im doing it!), Chipper Boat, Ranger tour and Frazier Island! We were all so excited!! We then headed back to the cabin and started drinking and preparing for our BBQ that the boys were cooking, cauise iof cause its a mans thing!! As soon as we got to the BBQing area the heavens opened up again! Joy!! The BBQ was really nice, we were now prepared for our big night out in Cheeky Monkeys!! This place is awseome its a huge bar with big tables everywhere which you dance on!! We needed to get drunk forst though, so the sambucas were needed!! The only thing was they could only serve shots with ice in them (another stupid rukl they have over here) so i came up with a great idea of doing them thrpough a straw!! After about the 3 of them we were well away with teh dancing!! This night was definelty on par with Bangkok, Quality!!

Day 8

Ok so when i woke up this day i was still very drunk, to be fair everyone was!! Our first porter call was the shop on the site for bacon and egg sandwichs, mmm best hangover cure, grease!! We then headed into town to finalise our details for the rest of our trip, this was not good when we were all feeling rubbish but it had to be done!! After this iwent to go and check out the tattoo shop, i have been wanting one for ages and though why not. So we all piled in there and i found one i liked. It's a chinese sign that means 'Family', and i have had it just below my knickerline. I was soooo scared i thought it was reallly going to hurt but i was hard and it wasnt that bad. I must admit though Claire did hold my hand!! It only took about 10mins, im really pleased with it it and it looks good! After all the excitement we then headed back to the cabin for yet another beer!! We werent going to cause of the night before but then thought it was our last night so what the hell!! Calire went for a nap and we started playing drinking games and were feeling a little merry after 1 beer, we were just topping up!! hehe!! Claire then woke up and we decieded we should get more beer and stay in and play games. Calire by this time and had a couple of swigs of Strongbow so she was the designated driver to go into town and get more beer! So Dale gave her his keys and me and Claire headed into town. On the way there the police were on the other side of the road doing random breath tests. Claire was bricking it incase we got stopped on the way back incase she was still over the limit from last night. So we got a case of beer and headed back, Claire was so scared of us getting stopped she really was and i dont think i was helping with my words of wisdom, i was a little merry! Calire was now really concertaring as we were approaching the police, and oh yes the police amn came into the middle of the road and waved us over, i wont say we we both said!! :-) She had to count down from 20 and show her card, all was fine and we were aloud to go!! Mad!! When we got back to the cabin the drinking games commenced with ring of fire, it was hilariuos, that the best time iv played it!! As Dale wasnt playing he cooked for us, which was really nice!! After dinner the games started back up again, but the beer was running out rapidly! So we decided to send Loz and Ian in a taxi to town and get more beer!!! Yep were all alcoholics!!! The games contined till late and we were all very drunk, the picturs are quilty though and we nearly had injuries with the thumb master!! Last night was one of the best nights and the lads are qulaity guys, Russ is sooooo funny!!

Day 10

So this moring it was an 8 0'clock alarm, we had to clean up and pack. Wasnt good doing this!! And then it was Bacon and Egg Batchs again and gallons of milk!

After we checked out we had a sad goodbye with the boys, its been an awesome few days with them!

So today we have now been in this internet cafe for nearly 2 and half hours writing this, im not feeling the best at all!! The pictures wont load on so we will do that when we get to Surfers Paradise. Not looking forward to the bus journey, its only and hour though so its not too bad!

Right were going for food again and going to get ready for the bus!

Im looking forward to the next set of adventures we are going on and giving my body a rest!! :-)
