We arrived in Zambia and one of the first stops for us was at the magnifiscent Victoria Falls. It really really does look amazing and it's so big you can't really capture it in one photo. Even the surrounding forests, gorges and small lakes made the whole place so picturesque, really was outstanding and it was topped off for us by lots of little rainbows at the base of the falls! I was very tempted to catch a microlight or a helicopter ride over the falls but the prices were a disgrace, although I bet it would be amazing! After we took in the falls and the local curio market where Alex got chased out of a shop for not buying anything and scraping her foot on the way out - we went to our capsite which is on the waterfront of the Zambezi river.
After we pitched our tents we went on a sunset booze cruise and honestly we probably had the best night so far! The bar was FREE!!!! and so we're all there getting pissed out of our heads waving at passing hippocrocopigs. So we played the old drinking games which were well funny, had water fights, I hurled over the side and got shouted at for pulluting the river!! I think everybody let their hair down and all had a scream. When we drunk the bar dry we had to pull over and go to the D.I.S.C.O. on the campsite where we danced to the one CD the DJ had over and over again. Me and Alex were up on the podium bar thing showing them how it should be done, chucking out some moves we learnt at John and Mommas house! I jumped and landed funny on my elbow and it looks like I'm wearing a skin coloured blowup armband this morning. But, poor Alex took a little knock from me and landed on the floor with glass in her hand - poor thing, we went to hospital this morning for stitches and I shouldn't laugh but I've never seen anything funnier than Alex having her stitches put in! - She's ok though! Oh and after the disco most of us went skinnydipping in the pool, made a couple o' splashes and then collapsed outside our tents! Really really good night!! We're both looking forward to white water rafting tomorrow on the Zambezi that should be fun!
Bit of a busy week for us this week, on Thursday we lose most of our fellow travellers as they are doing a different route to us - going to Jo'burg instead of Cape Town, but we are joined by a new group who will have just started their tour in Livingston - so a new group of people to get to know! Hope everybody is well back home, thank you for keeping in touch with me, really is nice to hear from you even if I can't always reply cos internet over here is s*** and slow! Bye for now!
