So before we left Lake Malawi we went out of the safety of our lakeside compound and in to the village where we were taken to John and Mommas house. (I know he was called John but dunno bout his wife, so we'll call her Momma) The village was made up of lots of little mud huts with thatched roofs and as we approached where we would eat our dinner we were welcomed by about fifty screaming little kids shouting 'Hi, how are you'. I had a right conversation with one little kid called 'Chumba' he said, 'Hi, how are you?' and I replied 'I'm fine how are you?' and he replied 'I'm fine, how are you?' and it pretty much went on like that - oh yeh, me and Chumba put the world to rights with that one! So then while Momma was preparing our rice, beef and spinach, John layed out about eight straw mats for us to sit on while we ate our meal. The meal was ok, but the entertainment after was really outstanding! All the kids sung and danced for us and they could throw out some right shapes even the little ones! They did about five dances for us and then asked for some people to participate, so I was first up there but my partner was a FULLY developed young Malawi girl who couldn't afford a bra - Well I have never been so uncomfortable in my life! I was trying to show these Africans how we do it in Yorkshire and at the same time protect my eyes, I'm telling you if I'd've allowed myself I could've been black and blue by the finish! The pictures do look good though, hopefully when we get to Cape Town I should be able to download some on to here. We all really did enjoy that night though!
