Swokupmund in Namibia is an amazing place - it's a blend of Dutch, German, English and African architecture and culture right by the Atlantic and just next to the Namib desert. We stayed there for a few days at 'The Dunes' backpackers hostel and our hosts were Sharron and (lets call him - swinger), I forget his name - Cos I'll tell thi what - THEY WERE SWINGERS! Don't get me wrong, they were nice and polite enough and were really helpful if we had questions and stuff..... But to walk about in an ill fitting thong around the pool/bar area letting everything swing loose while I'm practicing me front crawl!!!! I think that's a bit too friendly!!!!

Anyway, so the swingers arranged this black bin bag party where we each had two bin bags and had to make a costume. And I've got to be honest - I got right in to it! I made myself a superman costume and cut the 'S' out on the front. Then I made Alex a nice slinky number, and then I worked on another guys toga! We had such a laugh at the party, drunk loads and we all ended up in the pool - Swinger couldn't wait to join us the perv! Sharron stayed at the bar licking another guys face! That was a great night - funny pictures!

It was in Swokupmund where me and Alex bashed some dunes on the quad bikes - the scenery there was spectacular - we were in the middle of the desert surrounded by massive dunes - well cool!

When we left Swokupmund we drove into Namib Naukluft National park where we went on a desert walk after we climbed a big sand dune to watch the sunrise - amazing!! The desert walk was cool we were told about how the bushmen lived in the desert and how the plants and animals survive in those conditions - really interesting. The following day we drove to Fish River Canyon - second only to the Grand Canyon in size - what a place!! The pictures don't really do it justice but you can have a look - that really was great scenery to soak up.

On our drive in to South Africa we stayed at a place called Gariep along the Orange River. It was a nice campsite with great views of the river, we stayed out beneath the stars there again too! Me and Alex were playing drinking games again for the 43rd day in a row with some Afrikaan blokes - that was a laugh. Then we got talking to the barman who told us that only five days earlier - Prince Harry stayed there with his lass - he'd've been well up for joinin us with them drinkin games!

Well we're in Cape Town now and had a BBQ for Christmas dinner with some friends so that was nice. Alex managed to find us a really great guest house with our own pool - so it's going to be great there over the next few days to sort things out before we hire a car and make our way along the Garden Route!
