The scenery on the trip to Nha Trang was actually really nice which made the trip less traumatic. We arrived in late in the evening and went to our hostel! I met up with Ben again who I had met in Ho Chi Minh and ended up going for a few beers - which turned into quite a few beers. I also booked onto a cultural cruise for the following day (by cultural I mean booze).
The following day I got up, nursing a moderate hang over I headed downstairs to see it was teaming down with rain and so postponed the boat trip for one more day! I spent the rest of the day chilling out and looking around Nha Trang, there wasn't actually a lot to see so it was a fairly quiet day. The next day was the booze cruise and it was definitely boozey. Because a lot of people had cancelled the day before there was a lot of people on the boat! We headed out to visit some of the islands off the coast of Nha Trang. The first stop was at an aquarium - where most of us decided to stay on the boat - and I for one am glad I did. Apparently it was a fairly miserable aquarium - complete with a dead fish and some really unhappy turtles. The second stop was a spot to swim and snorkel - however the visibility was pretty poor (so I decided I'd give diving a miss the following day) and the masks leaked so I just had a little swim around!
We had lunch on the boat and afterwards were treated to some music by some of the boat crew which was awesome - a particular highlight was the drum kit which was some barrels cut in half with Yamaha written across them with marker. Then in a low point of the trip I was forced by a boatful of people to get up and sing - I'm sure most of you know how bad an idea that is! Despite many, many, many protestations I ended up with a mic in my hand (I tried to keep it far from my mouth though) singing "the fields of Athenry". We then had a happy hour where we jumped into the cold sea and got free drinks (that tasted terrible - actually by the 5th glass it was fine).
We headed back to shore where I had dinner with some people from the boat trip and sorted a bus for the following night to Hoi an. Then we continued drinking into the wee hours. My last day in Nha Trang was spent nursing a pretty severe hang over, I visited the beach, and waited for the bus!
