The last few days have been funny!!
I booked a hostel on tuesday for wednesday. I had nowhere to sleep on the tuesday night so I decided to share with Nicole who was checking out at 5am to fly to Shanghai. When she checked out some guy came to the room andstarted talking to me in chinease. 30 mins later the receptioniost came up with the manager saying I had to pay and that I wasnt allowed here. I told them that I had paid already. Tehy looked bafffled and left. They came back 20 mins later asking for my passport and asking who i paid. i told them I payed the other receptionist last night. They went away but then still came back asking for 60 RMB. I told them that there was a mistake and that I had paid. It was getting a bit frantic now. I had lied so much that I couldnt go back on my word and give them money so i decided to try make a run for it.
However the whole hotel was on alkert for me. i walked down the corridor and the cleaner would phone reception to tell them I was coming and to get ready. Everyone was staring. I tried to style it and use the internet to distract them. they were proper looking. they came in again and saud I had to pay and I told them i wold come to reception after the internet and sort it out. I had to admit defeat. I sorted 60RMB out, went to the desk put the money on the counter and said nothing but just walked out. I was too embarrased to say sorry or explain. I then left and made my way to a new hostel.
Tonight was the best night i had in Beijing so far. I met up with these two swedish girls who im going to meet back in Austrailia as they are going to work in Sydney the same time as me...I was also with Micha a dutch guy and a couple others. WE all (7OF US ALL TOGETHER) PILED INTO A TAXI and told him to drive to the karaoke place...he wasnt going to drive with us all in the cab but we paid double. I cant beleive 7 of us were actually in one cab!!! We all got hammered...ended up back at the girls room but all passed out.
I been in Beijing a week now and want to move on.
